09.30 – 12.00 Morning Conference: BELGIUM’S RAILS AT A CROSSROADS

A new government means new priorities for rail. How will Belgium’s network—and Rail Vision 2040—evolve? What can Brussels’ bold ERTMS rollout teach us, and can planned upgrades truly transform travel without the usual setbacks?

This program explores Belgium’s rail ambitions, the impact of its rapid ERTMS deployment, and its role in shaping European rail’s future. Top experts, from Belgian infrastructure leaders to the European Coordinator for ERTMS, will tackle funding, service efficiency, and the key barriers holding rail back.

13.00 – 15.30 Afternoon Conference: SMART INFRA AND FRMCS

As smart technology evolves at breakneck speed, so does its impact on rail. How can AI-driven predictive maintenance be optimised, and what must the industry do to keep pace? Which energy-efficient innovations are truly shaping rail’s future?

This program explores how AI-powered maintenance and 5G-enabled FRMCS will transform rail, especially as GSM-R is phased out. Our experts will tackle cost balancing, system compatibility, and the challenges of interoperability and investment in rail’s rapid digital evolution.
